The technical answer is yes, as we create additional format versions of formerly existing resources by digitising or making copies of websites. Strictly speaking, however, the EPA does not publish, as it does not create new intellectual content, other than its own documentation.
Being a service maintained by the Hungarian National Library, its technology solutions are adequate, and the continuous availability of our service is secured. We provide all technical requirements for online publishing free of charge. Furthermore, we strive for better search possibilities and visibility on the world wide web for the content archived at our server.
We do not publish individual articles. If you would like to publish in an electronic periodical, you should use our database to search for a journal suitable for your purposes and contact them on the addresses provided in the EPA.
For studies of more lenght, you could offer them to the collections of the Hungarian Electronic Library, provided they meet their selection criteria, and the former publisher (if any) gives consent.
All the resources in the EPA are distributed with the written consent of the original publisher. This agreement presupposes that it has been negotiaied between the publisher and the authors. Should this not be the case, please contact us with the bibliographic and access information regarding your publication, and we will remove it from the public service. As for the original source, you have to contact the publisher too, because we can remove unwanted material only from our own domain,
That is not our main profile, since we don't have the resources and infrastructure to conduct large scale digitisation projects. However, when opportinity arises we occasionally have the chance and funding to digitise journals, mostly old and valuable ones that are otherwise difficult to access.
The electronic version of e-journals is usually published some time after the release of the hardcopy version. It can cause further delays if the EPA has to retrieve the new issue from the original source, since we have to process the new content that is already availabe somewhere else. It is also possible that the publication of the electronic version is belated on purpose, in order to enhance the possible prifit from the purchases of the new issue. This is vital to the survival of some publications.
