Das Jahrbuch der ungarischen Germanistik (JUG) erscheint seit 1992 als Organ der Gesellschaft ungarischer Germanisten (GUG) und hat die Aufgabe, die germanistische Literatur-, Kultur- und Sprachwissenschaft sowie die Didaktik von Deutsch als Fremdsprache mit ihrem jeweiligen spezifischen fachlichen Selbstverständnis in Mittelost- und Südosteuropa aufeinander zu beziehen und eine Bestandsaufnahme der Entwicklungen der Germanistik in Ungarn zu bieten.
Seit 2018 wird das JUG ausschließlich von der GUG herausgegeben. Eine Fortsetzung wird als E-Paper geplant. Der Band 2018 erscheint ohne Aufsätze, mit den Rubriken Jahresbibliographie, Rezensionen und Konferenzberichte, Institutsberichte. In der Zukunft will jedoch das JUG weiterhin auch wissenschaftliche Aufsätze veröffentlichen, in den Bereichen Sprach-, Literatur-, und Kulturwissenschaft sowie DaF.
